Complaint
Prolific Energy did not abide by the terms of the
contract. Did not drill oil well per terms of agreement and kept the money.
Refuses to refund.
Prolific Energy contacted me in November 2011
offering an opportunity to invest in an oil/gas well project. They said that
it would be drilled within a few weeks, but definitely by the end of the
year. The well was not drilled in that time frame. Company kept coming up
with different excuses for the next several months including personal
issues, owner's divorce, etc. Company was very good about returning calls in
the beginning when they were trying to sell me on the investment, but after
they got my money it usually took 10-15 phone calls/emails and several weeks
for them to respond.
Starting to sense that something was not right, I
asked for my money to be returned around October of 2012. Owner of company
refused and stopped taking my calls. Starting in January 2013, there is
nobody in the office to take calls. Nobody seems to be working there except
for the owner, who does not return calls or emails.
I do not know if this was a scam from the
beginning or if the company just ran into trouble and decided to keep my
money. I cannot get any more information because they have not returned
numerous phone calls, letters, or emails. It has been almost year and a half
now since my "investment" and I'm starting to take actions against this
company.
Desired Settlement
The settlement I'm seeking is for my funds to be
returned.
